The PTA committee have been busy in the background trying to come up with some ‘Covid proof’ fundraising initiatives to help purchase 30 new laptops to support our children’s learning.
This has been no easy task as most ideas are hard to implement due to our current Covid restrictions and therefore necessary requirements!
In a bid to get us off the ground we will be concentrating our efforts on the following:
Christmas Hamper raffle:
We are planning to have a non-school uniform day on Friday 27 November and kindly ask for a donation per child for a Christmas hamper. In order to keep everyone safe, the sale of raffle tickets will be available to purchase through the parent gateway. Donations are welcome before
the 27 November but we must have these in school no later than the 27 November to allow time to quarantine the items.
Christmas Present Buying
The PTA will be buying a selection of presents that the children can purchase and wrap for someone special! There are no limits on the number of presents you can buy and these will range in price from £1.50-£5.00 depending on the item. We will itemise the items available in a small brochure with details of how to order these through the gateway system after half term.
Class Bubble Discos & Film Afternoon
We are really aware that our children’s mental health and well-being is important and we do not want them to feel that it’s all work and no play! We are working with the Teaching team to arrange class bubble discos and a festive film afternoon to help reward their hard work and have
some much needed downtime with their peers. We are heavily reliant on the Teaching teams for this as we are not allowed on school premises to lend a hand currently. Once these dates have been arranged we will let you know ASAP.
The PTA team have been really struggling to find Covid proof ways to help purchase the much needed IT equipment and have so far come up with the above. In a bid to be transparent, each laptop costs £225. We need 30 to enable a whole class to use these together. This totals £6750 to purchase what we need. If we are unable to run all the events we’d like to help fundraise for these it will mean it will take longer to purchase. If anyone is in a position to make a financial contribution towards the purchase of these we’d be really very grateful. We’d kindly ask no more than £28 per pupil and this is by no means mandatory. It’s just an idea to try and help purchase these this school year if possible. Further information to follow.
