Summer Term Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to the summer term! I hope that you had a chance to have a rest over the holiday and enjoy some of that beautiful sunshine.

I want to thank you and your children for the work that you have been engaging in over the past 2 weeks of home learning and 2 weeks of holiday homework. We recognise the difficulties that arise in this new remote learning way; many of us are parents ourselves and face the same day to day challenges that you face and understand the pressures it brings. We want to ensure we meet our school community needs as best we can, however, given that schools closed so quickly and without warning we are constantly reviewing our systems and learn along the way what our successes are and where we can improve further.  We appreciate your support and messages.

Yesterday, our school staff had an INSET. We discussed how we can present some visual learning clips to assist the children in their learning (and so the children remember who we are!). This will be rolled out with next week’s learning. We recognised that many of our learning Powerpoints are very large files and will clog up your email accounts, so this week we will be posting them on the website, but next week are looking to post all learning to Purple Mash where pupils can also submit work (watch this space).

Finally, thank you for your communication with teachers via the year group emails. Please continue to be in touch; we are relying on your feedback and it is also a way of knowing that you are safe and well. Teachers will be on the end of emails for any questions. Please let us know if you are not receiving emails. Every parent should have received one yesterday, so please email admin@kingswayjm.herts.sch.uk if you did not receive this.

Keep an eye out for this Friday’s newsletter for further updates and information.

Take care and stay safe!

Kind regards
