Art Gallery Year 5 2022/23

Spring term 2023

Using alternative mediums, we created still-art portraits using recycled magazine pages. The creativity the children came up was superb. Sticking to the same theme we then used our skills to replicate empty wrappers. Trying our best to match the size, shape and colour of the wrappers. To end the term off we had good fun drawing funny valentines dragons, some children then making them into cards to give out for valentines.

Autumn 1 2022

We kicked off the new year by refreshing our shading skills learned last year, using skills to gradually shade sections of a picture from light to dark. We then used these skills in replicating a sketch of a house, adding shades and shadows to advance and add depth to the sketch. We finished the term off with a fun activity of Optical Illusions. Here we used two pictures of contrasting shades, sticking them in alternate orders. One side shows a picture of a tiger and the other the environment he lives in. Fun all round!
