Welcome to SEN and Disability at Kingsway Junior School

Kingsway Junior School is an inclusive school. We recognise every child's right to education and it is our aim to support all children to reach their full potential and to be the best that they can be.

    How We Support Your Child

Every child learns in different ways and, from time to time, may have barriers which prevent them from making the progress we expect. When this happens, we work closely with you to explore different ways to support your child, ensuring they get the most out of their time at school.

Your child's class teacher will speak to you if they feel your child needs a little more help with some aspects of learning. They are your first point of contact and will keep you informed about your child's progress.

    Our SEN Team

Miss H Whiting - Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
Working alongside Mrs A Akers - Inclusion Coordinator (INCO), our dedicated team ensures that all pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive the support they need to thrive.

The role of our SENCO and INCO:

    • Support teachers in planning learning and setting targets which meet individual needs
    • Coordinate additional professional support when needed to meet your child's needs
    • Oversee the graduated approach to SEN support across the school
    • Work with you and external specialists to ensure your child receives the right support at the right time
