Art Gallery Year 6 2022/23

Spring term 2023

We absolutely loved linking our art to our history and English themes… World War 1. Making a realistic sunset using torn pieces of paper was a bit challenging but nothing we couldn’t do. We also looked at famous artists, namely Claude Monet and Banksy. We tried to replicate their style in two different versions of art. To end the term we completed an advanced colour wheel, making primary, secondary and tertiary colours using only blue, red and yellow.

Autumn 1 2022

This term we started the year off with mindfulness colouring pictures of Autumn. We then explored our creative sides by designing Zentangle patterns, which is an American method of drawing. This style not only promotes concentration and creativity but at the same time increases personal well-being. We then used these new skills while creatively and uniquely decorating Day of the Dead images, briefly learning about this famous celebration. We ended the term off with a not-so-easy but very rewarding attempt at self-portraits. I can only say how proud I am of each final piece that was produced. Well done Year 6's.
